Addition of Maneuver Training Land at Ft. Irwin, CA

San Bernardino County, CA

Presented weekly DT awareness briefs to incoming soldiers and construction crews.  Conducted pre-construction surveys, and monitored construction activities. Responded to “tortoise emergencies” (ie: DT in road on Ft. Irwin property).  DT husbandry for over 70 wild juvenile desert tortoises – maintained individual pens, to prevent disease transmission, monthly health assessments and weighed/measured until their translocation the following spring.
